FREE Backup for World Backup Day
RapidSwitch, a leading European supplier of self-managed dedicated server solutions, is celebrating World Backup Day by giving away 10GB of premium cloud backup space for FREE with every server ordered this weekend.
World Backup Day takes place on Saturday March 31 with the aim of spreading awareness about the need to keep data safe in this increasingly digital age.
RapidSwitch is offering 10GB of its RapidStore cloud backup free with any dedicated server ordered on either Saturday 30 March 30 or Sunday 1 April. RapidStore offers a dedicated control panel , infinite backup retention, unlimited backup space and lightning fast backup speed. It can be implemented on servers and PCs anywhere in the world and has a graphical interface for analytical reporting.
Sarah Haran, managing director of RapidSwitch, said: "Data is the backbone of the global economy and we are living in an age which is dealing with an explosion in the amount of data we deal with. If a business loses its data, it loses its life blood. It's absolutely critical therefore that businesses and organisations protect their data by ensuring that it is backed up."
RapidSwitch is part of iomart Group plc. Its Maidenhead Data Centre is part of a network of five fully-owned and managed UK data centres which carry ISO 27001 and 9001 accreditations, so its backup meets all data assurance guidelines. It also means that data can be even better safeguarded by the ability to archive and restore it to different servers in different locations through multi-site disaster recovery plans.
Features such as high availability, heartbeat monitoring and data backup and replication enable a whole platform to either continue in the event of an unplanned failure, or be fully restored quickly and efficiently following a failure, all with no or minimal loss of data.
The second World Backup Day takes place on Saturday March 31. The idea for the day came from Ismail Jadun, a biology student in the US who, after seeing a discussion about backup awareness on reddit, declared that the day before April Fools' Day was the perfect time to back up files.
The organisers of World Backup Day are urging individuals and businesses to recognise the value of their data and ensure that multiple copies of that data – whether documents emails, videos, photographs - are backed up frequently.
